This winter we experienced the passing from this world of Pope Benedict XVI. In an age when reason and the freedom to think seem under attack everywhere, who cannot be grateful for his simple words of wisdom and common sense: “What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful.” He often sent us books over the years and as Cardinal blessed our first library.
